Kaylah Christian-Gonzalez, a native of Augusta, Georgia, has cultivated her lifelong passion for dance into a remarkable journey that marries artistic expression with profound spiritual growth. With a humble beginning in church at the age of nine, Kaylah’s introduction to dance became an instant love affair- one that not only allowed her to explore movement but also provided an avenue to convey her emotions when words fell short.A graduate of the esteemed John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School, class of 2017, Kaylah’s dance education spanned a diverse range of styles including Modern, African, and Ballet. Her formative years were deeply enriched by the mentorship of acclaimed artist Sharon Skepple Mayfield, a Bessie Award Winner-akin to a Grammy in the world of dance. Under Mayfield’s guidance, Kaylah honed her skills and developed a distinctive approach to dance that blends technical prowess with heartfelt spiritually.In 2018, Kaylah achieved a significant milestone as she earned her certification from SC TEN Worldwide, solidifying her dedication to infusing her art with the divine. Among her notable achievements, Kaylah’s leadership and choreography were showcased during the 2018 “March for Jesus” parade in Downtown Augusta, Georgia-a testament to her ability to use dance as a means of uniting and uplifting communities. Beyond this, she has continued to expand her influence by teaching choreography to various groups, including her in-house team, Proclaim Dance. Her dedication to sharing her knowledge and expertise extends to conducting master classes and providing private lessons, ensuring that the transformative power of dance is accessible to all who seek it.
