The Waterton Biosphere Reserve Association (WBRA) is a non-profit organization focused on creating balance between the needs of people and conserving biodiversity within the Waterton Biosphere Region (WBR). Established in the early 1980s, and incorporated as a non-profit society in 2009, the WBRA has worked closely with local people to integrate conservation values with traditional livelihoods.By working collaboratively with individuals, organizations, governments and others, the Waterton Biosphere Region strives to achieve a balance between conserving biological diversity, promoting sustainable use of resources, and building the capacity of local people and organizations to positively affect their communities and the environment.
