The ISSA facilitates interac-tion and education to create a more successful environment for global information systems security and the professionals involved.ISSA Colorado SpringsSimilarly, the ISSA Colorado Springs (ISSA-COS) chapter is a not-for-profit 501(c)(6) organization that exists to accomplish two primary purposes: to fulfill the objectives of ISSA International within our local community; and, to fulfill goals specific to the needs of our local members and community partners. ISSA-COS operates as a pure volunteer organization with no paid staff members. We boast nearly 400 members from many diverse industries. As such, we work hard to develop events, programs, and strategic partnerships that benefit our members by offering opportunities for professional development, leadership, mentoring, technical development, and community involvement.Professional NetworkingJoining ISSA-COS provides access to business professionals at many different technical and management levels. The relationships our members forge with representatives from various companies often lead to new career opportunities. Relationships developed among peer professionals provide our members with new “go-to” folks they can contact whenever or wherever to help solve technical issues or bounce ideas off them. Networking opportunities provided by ISSA-COS include chapter meetings, mini-seminars, community social events, and conferences. Relationships developed through networking are also extremely beneficial for benchmarking security practices among similar environments and for offering access to resources that can help validate security products, approaches, and methodologies.
