Hannah G. Wacter is an award winning artist from Valdosta, Georgia. Hannah has always been fascinated with the arts. It also helped that she was constantly surrounded by creative individuals. She grew up in a home with two professional photographers (Gandy Photographers) as parents who have always supported her love for art. They would teach her photography skills early on that she would soon realize correlated wonderfully when trying to decide how to compose a painting. Not to mention, she has been inspired by other artists in the family, her professors and local artists along the way.Hannah's passion lies with oil painting from landscapes to abstract art. However, oil is not her only passion, she has also grown fond of watercolor and is popular for commissioning house and pet portraits for her customers. Above all, one of Hannah’s favorite activities is plein air painting. She describes it as, “a way to fully engage in the moment and paint what you see. It is why I create and how beautiful the world is when you take the time to study what is in front of you. There is something about finding an ordinary scene in life that individuals pass everyday and quickly depicting the area in which highlights its essence." Plein air creates an escape for Hannah where she is able to silence her conscious mind and let her unconscious mind prevail with every brushstroke.She enjoys teaching watercolor art classes to all skill levels in order to connect with the community and fulfill her teaching passions! She states that, "Everyone should have the chance to rediscover the creativity they enjoyed as children and leave with a wonderful piece of art that they can be proud of!"
