Joon Community is a mutual aid & public transit-focused 501(c)3 a WOC-founded non-profit that hosts community-engaged & environment justice-friendly events nationwide.Joon which in the Farsi language means “Dear” is something that my nana called me a lot growing up. Ever since founding SUSTAIN THE MAG from 2018-2024, we believed in caring for our communities and the power and necessity of a third space. As someone who doesn’t own a car or know how to drive one, it can be hard to be with a community in such a car-clustered nation. That is why we hold such a high emphasis on building out our Bus Babes program as we want to make sure everyone has a chance to create action and be one with their community.
