Kids of Noteis a non-auditioned, integrated choir for children and youth of all abilities, who love to sing. Our music is uplifting, fun and often challenging. Now into our 15th season, we have 25 members, ages 7 and up. Children's entertainer Brenda Baker is our Founding Director and Kim Salkeld is our pianist. The Notationsis an ensemble of youth and young adult singers, some of whom are “graduates” of Kids of Note. In 2015 we welcomed Jean Currie as our director. Together with pianist Sheldon Corbett, Jean provides a unique performing and social experience where a mix of young adults with a range of gifts and abilities have fun making music together. The ensemble shares concerts with Kids of Note, but the singers perform their own songs and provide harmonies for songs by Kids of Note.In order to meet The Notations’ goal of full integration, at this time we would especially welcome “neurotypical” singerswho support our vision of a Saskatoon where people of all abilities share important life experiences – like singing – in an integrated community setting.Every year our two groups perform a Christmas and a Spring concert to a full house at Grosvenor Park United Church (407 Cumberland Ave. South). The church generously provides a home for us, along with other supports, as a service to Saskatoon. Our choristers also do their best to provide two community Outreach Events annually in other venues, sometime between March and May.Kids of Note sometimes has limited space, so please contact Brenda Baker SOON to register or to be added to the waiting list: director@KidsofNote.com or (306) 653-3245.
