I am Taiwo Koyejo, a twin raised in the vibrant 80s of Oakland, California, and deeply shaped by my rich Nigerian heritage. Growing up in a household filled with tradition, flavorful food, and vivid colors, I developed an early passion for fashion and art.Inspired by my twin sister's journey as an actress, I pursued a career in hair, makeup, and styling to stay close to her world. My creative path began at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, where I studied visual communications. From there, I transitioned into the beauty industry, earning my cosmetology license and fulfilling my dream of opening a hair and nail salon. While my love for fashion and beauty flourished, so did my desire to uplift my community. This led me to further my education at Cal State East Bay Hayward, where I majored in sociology and began working in nonprofit sectors and government contracts with the County of Alameda. Through this work, I have connected with countless individuals whose resilience continues to inspire me.I now offer free beauty classes to my community because I believe there is abundant talent that lacks the financial resources for proper training. My goal is to open a beauty school, salon/spa, and beauty supply store for my students, where we train them not only in technical skills but also in professionalism. My motto is simple yet powerful: "Each one, reach one, teach one."
