Ed's Mercantile is a family owned vintage & handmade boutique in Toronto. We're Terri, Rob & Tatyana....a Mom & Pop & Daughter shop! We recently won Post Magazine's "Best of TO" category for Best Unique Boutique in the city for the second year in a row!We sell vintage clothing, housewares & paper goods, pre-loved & collectible, eclectic finds, original artwork and handmade goods of every kind! We also have a studio at the front of the shop where we hold weekly workshops and drop in activities, focused on sustainability, upcycling and functionality through hand work.We have a series of in depth, paid workshops that rotate with the seasons. All supplies are included with our classes. Plus from time to time, we host informal drop in activities that are hosted by us or members of the community. All drop in classes are pay-what-you-can and we announce them on our Instagram page.If you have a suggestion for a workshop topic, we would love to hear from you! Also, if you're trying to get a hold of us for information about any of our workshops it's best to email us directly or send us a DM on Instagram or our website. Our email address is edsmercantiletoronto@gmail.com*****Please note***** when you use the ‘contact organizer‘ feature here, we never receive any messages on our end. If you need to get a hold of us for any reason, please email or DM us on our Instagram page or website directly. From time to time we take a look at our workshop listings for the season and will swap out the less popular topics for other workshops that sell out quickly....that way we can make sure we're teaching the subjects that you really want to learn! We teach our in-house workshops (the one's we teach ourselves) after store hours Monday to Friday evenings and before we open the store on both weekend mornings. Plus! Our vendors schedule several of their own workshops during store hours. If you're looking to sign up for a class, it's best to not wait until the last minute. Depending on the prep time required, ticket sales end at least a day before the class is scheduled (sometimes earlier) so that we know how many participants there will be and have sufficient time to prepare the supplies and have everything ready for the workshop. In an effort to keep our worshops as affordable as possible, we prepare the supplies on an as needed basis and don't typically stock up....the cost savings of preparing classes one at a time are then passed along to our students. On average, we have some of the most affordable private workshops in the GTA!Most of the workshops are taught by Ed's owner, Terri but when another teacher is facilitating, we'll let you know in the listing! Do you teach a topic that you think will fit in with our store? Please feel free to get in touch.....we rent out the workshop area during store hours for $50/3 hour session. You can bring your students to Ed's and teach here. You sell tickets on your own platform and we'll promote your event on our Instagram page! Send us an email with your idea and we'll be in touch. Our classes are limited to 4-6 participants each (size depends on the topic) so that we have plenty of one on one time to help everyone in the class as needed. When coming to a workshop, please try and make it to the store at least 10 minutes ahead of time so you can settle in, have time to make a cup of tea in our kitchen and be ready to learn as soon as the class begins.Follow us on Instagram for more info ➡️Our main Instagram page for the store(@edsmercantiletoronto)Plus! Find free instructions here and news about the store as well as online shopping➡️Our Website(www.edsmercantiletoronto.com)Do you teach your own workshops and would like to purchase kits? We have recently opened an online wholesale shop where we upload kits and supplies for you to use in your own studio/storeFaire (Wholesale kits and supplies)
