Katsumi's Teaching Kitchen was founded on March 15, 2015. I was a Japanese language teacher by trade. I knew how to make yummy Japanese dishes because of my family. I had no intention of starting a Japanese cooking school because I don't have formal training.What I did have was a Japanese, elitiest, food snob mother. Mom was all about the "authentic" ingredients. Her dedication to excellent Japanese dishes while growing up inadvertanly made me a Japanese food snob as well. I have hundreds of Japanese cooking videos and over 30 years of Japanese cooking magazines from mom's favorite cooking show in Japan.Katsumi’s teaching Kitchen in Indianapolis is a hands on cooking school specializing in Japanese cuisine, culture and history. Classes usually run between 2 and 2.5 hours long and you get to eat everything you make!
