Banff Castle has a rich history, dating all the way back to the 12th century. It was built as a fortification by the Comyns, the Earls of Buchan, and even played a part in the Wars of Scottish Independence when King Edward I of England visited it in the late 13th century. Over the centuries, Banff Castle has seen its fair share of battles, rulers, and changes. It's really fascinating to think about all the history that has happened within those walls!
