Living and working in Wirral, I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist with over 16 years working in the NHS. Crucially I am finding myself at the age where perimenopause is part of my life and after speaking to my GP I realised that while I have medical and hormonal options open to me, there are very few options for the emotional and psychological support that people like me might want to explore either alongside or instead of medical management. My clinical specialism is in supporting people with long term conditions and physical health difficulties and this puts me in a position to offer this group. Whilst psychological strategies cannot cure or prevent physical health changes, what they can do is support us to live a value-focused life alongside ourselves, our minds and our bodies. Changes to our body as we grow through perimenopause do not have to mean inevitable suffering. I love working with groups of people where shared experiences can have transformative effects above and beyond individual therapy. I look forward to navigating this new opportunity with you all.
