Roz is a Dumfries and Galloway based artist who's work encompasses a wide range of textile crafts and materials. She often uses several textile crafts in combination to make her unique wearable items, textile based jewellery and wall art. A self confessed 'fibre obsessive' after discovering the joys of working with fibre several years ago, Roz has expanded her textile craft repertoire to include spinning yarns and art yarns using fibres which she processes, dyes and cards in to batts ready for spinning herself. Roz prefers to use sheep and alpaca fibres which she has hand processed from raw fleece and sources the fleeces she uses from UK flocks. Roz uses a lot of rare and critical conservation sheep breeds in her work, not simply because their diverse qualities are exciting to work with but also because if fibre artists use these rare breeds in their work, it helps to highlight the historical importance of the breeds and keep up flock numbers.Roz's fibres, spinning and other art works can be seen online at www.spinessthezia@instagram.com and in the Artists and Makers Co-operative shop at 142 King Street, Castle Douglas, DG7 1DX
