Wootton St Lawrence is a rural village without a village hall, pub or shop. The beautiful, historic church of St Lawrence is central to the community, used for a variety of events. However, it lacks the basic essential amenities of a water supply and toilet, often making it impractical. Facilities need to be introduced and the church needs to be adapted to ensure it is maintained for future generations and thrives as a centre for the community.The Friends of St Lawrence (FoSL), St Lawrence for our Time project was launched in 2022 to reorder the church to install a water supply, toilet, kitchen area and flexible meeting space. FoSL are avidly fundraising in order to progress the project.
