Born in Texas City, TX on 12/25/71 by way of Austin, Texas, Kimberley Yancy possesses the heart of a true Texan Woman. A 1995 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Government, she presently holds the mantle of the first African-American woman to be elected to a District Council seat in the History of La Marque, TX. Known for being able to deliver by working to enhance the community. During her first term as Councilwoman crime is down, taxes are cut, new Economic Development Corporation programs were introduced and new businesses are now in La Marque, TX. A new La Marque Board Walk and Music Arena Convention Center are presently in the works.Mrs. Yancy also serves as the Education State Chair for the NAACP Texas State Conference where she travels, listens to concerns, and strives to bring viable solutions. Mrs. Yancy is the lead founder of the historic Malcolm X lounge at UT-Austin and helped to charter the New Vision Baptist Church in Dickinson, TX. Kimberley, is a master networker and loves to talk about business and is a serial entrepreneur. She writes under the pen name of Mikasenoja and wrote the book, “Confessions of a Preachers Wife” under the Urban Books imprint.She is married to Pastor C.L. Yancy for 30 years and together they share four children and three grandchildren. A certified teacher and licensed minister/chaplain, Mrs. Yancy leads the New Vision Alive Community Development Corporation which strives to help families towards self-sufficiency.
