Live Rhythms is coordinated by Mark Barfoot, joined by members of a core group of musicians and others from time to time. Mark is a workshop facilitator and drumming teacher with many years experience of supporting dancers in various cultural traditions. He’s often joined by his partner, Tracey West, an inclusive somatic movement and gong practitioner, to open the session and complete it with a gorgeous gong bath experience.Live Rhythms is a dance and movement practice open to anyone who wants to explore the connections between live music and the 5 Rhythms Movement Practice of Gabrielle Roth. Each session starts with a short body warm up followed by a freestyle dance session to live music.The sessions connect us with our breath, our bodies, our movement and the dynamic spaces inside & between us. An opportunity to be with ourselves, other bodies and the amazing experience of interacting with other dancers and musicians.
