Pride of the Déise is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led community organisation based in Waterford City, proudly supported by the Waterford City & County Council Festivals Grant Fund. We celebrate and uplift the LGBTQIA+ community across Waterford and the South East through joyful, inclusive, and empowering events that centre queer voices, culture, and creativity.Since launching our first in-person festival in 2022, we’ve grown from strength to strength – blending powerful protest with community celebration. Our Pride Festival each June is a highlight of the cultural calendar, bringing together workshops, talks, performances, family fun, and a fierce Pride March and Block Party.Now in our sixth year, Pride of the Déise is dreaming bigger. In 2025, we’re spreading that queer magic all year long with events popping up across the seasons – from film nights to craft circles, from our annual festival, to more rwgular events like social groups, game nights and Queercal Cómhrá meet-ups as Gaeilge. Because queer joy doesn’t stop after June.Together, we’re building something beautiful — by the community, for the community.
