The Writers House at Rutgers University – Camden is a joint campus and community space dedicated to highlighting the roles of writing and storytelling across diverse disciplines, communities, and media. In a welcoming space on Camden’s historic Cooper Street and through a menu of unique interdisciplinary programming, we unite artists and scholars, students and citizens, around the power of the written word. Programs include Writers in Camden, a long-running reading series; Cooper Street Workshops, an affordable writing workshop series open to all; Outside the Wire, a multi-format humanities program focused on veterans' narratives; Growing Great Writers, an after-school program for Camden students in grades 4-8; and the High School Writers Conference, a one-day conference dedicated to introducing high school writers to the many ways a range of professionals use writing in their work.
