Welcome to the Gestalt Community Schools Village, where classroom meets community to develop the whole child. We show our scholars that being great requires a great effort, and we empower them to be college-ready, career-ready and community-ready. Our Power Center Academy schools set the standard for educational excellence. With every graduating class, we continue to build better communities through education.Gestalt Community Schools believes that a strong Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program is the cornerstone to its academic approach and scholars’ academic success. With the COVID-19 pandemic and racial unrest locally and across the country, Gestalt Community Schools has been leaning more deliberately on the current body of SEL work. SEL is also the support we will use to promote equity. This work requires strategic focus and expertise in the areas of Social-Emotional Learning and Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI), which is why Gestalt has introduced the Network, Inclusion, Culture, and Equity Team. The N.I.C.E Team has been tasked with codifying our current body of SEL work and planning authentic experiences that allow both scholars and teachers to practice those skills through a DEI lens. Their work extends beyond the classroom SEL curriculum and seeks to address the SEL needs of all stakeholders. Their recent work includes; network wide wellness pulse-check surveys, implementation of daily scholar check-ins in all five schools, and teacher wellness sessions.
