We are excited to invite you to join us for a special workshop in Berlin in August 2024 that focuses on Action and Physicality in Performance.

Who is this program for?

The international program is designed for performance makers, directors, choreographers, and those who work directly with performers for the professional stage. It is suitable for professionals as well as those who have just entered this field. Additionally, performers with ambitions to create performances and a keen interest in directing are welcome to join the program. The in-class session is designed for strong, hardy, disciplined professionals and pre-professionals who are ready to participate from the beginning to the end.

What will you be able to learn?

  • How to develop the awareness of your body and its connection to your voice, emotions, and character.
  • How to use your body as an expressive tool and develop your stage presence.
  • How to develop character & work in an ensemble.

How is the studying going?

The program is designed as a 5-day workshop lab, where students will practically and physically explore different techniques to help them discover answers to their questions.

Ostrenko Brothers' Method:

The program will also introduce the Ostrenko Brothers' Method, a widely recognized approach to performance that generates innovative productions by utilizing concepts, ideas, and existing playtexts. The method offers the tools and support necessary for performers to reach their full potential.

👉🏻 Meet Sergei Ostrenko, your future mentor with 30+ years of experience as a Director, Choreographer, and Performance Teacher.

He has worked with diverse groups of performers in various countries like Austria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Ukraine, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, producing international projects for the professional stage and education.

In the workshop program:

📌 5 days of classes from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM*

📌 The opportunity to receive an international certificate upon completion of the program at NIPAI with Sergey Ostrenko.

📌 Support, feedback, and advice from the mentor during the workshop.

The Working Language

The working language of the program is English, and the training is designed as a multidisciplinary intensive lab where participants can practice together with performers from different techniques and countries. Multidisciplinarity and multiculturalism are some of the most important principles of our programs.

It aims at giving the performers an understanding of what they want, while also providing directors with insights into how best put on stage a new production or scene variation based on classical material.The main advantage of the method: you will be able to get practical instructions to get results in the shortest way, using traditional and modern approaches in the analysis of physical action.International theatre projects under the guidance of Ostrenko brothers took place in different countries: Austria, Belarus, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.Students can receive the Certificate of Participation in the training.Evidence that you are serious about your education and professional development.The certificate is provided after a student's participation in the training and submitting the report/essay of their experience at the program (1500 words).
