The Tropical Flowering Tree Society (TFTS) was formed in 1988 by a handful of enthusiasts interested in promoting, propagating and preserving tropical flowering trees. TFTS hosts the Royal Poinciana Fiesta now in its 86th year. The longest continuously running festival in Miami-Dade celebrating the beauty of flowering trees and distributing scholarship money to young women studying horticulture in all its aspects and botany related fields.
