Communities That Care (CTC) is a proven prevention system that's made a difference to real kids in real communities across the nation for nearly 30 years. The CTC process creates awareness of the risk and protective factors impacting the healthy development of children and adolescents. Throughout the process, communities target their prevention efforts to reduce risk factors and strengthen protective factors in the four domains of community, family, school and peer/individual. The Center for Communities That Care is part of the Social Development Research Group, School of Social Work, University of Washington.COMMUNITIES THAT CARE, SUMMIT COUNTYIn 2016, Summit County Government received a grant from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) to address concerns about youth substance use and mental health.
