The original Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast had it's inception in 1993 when the first event was held in Washington, DC to gather people of the Faith including government and church leaders across the nation to pray for the Office of the Presidency and the United States of America and her destiny. Dr. Ruth Ward Heflin, the predecessor of her National Coordinator Rev. Merrie Turner was given the mission from God in Jerusalem where she pastored Mt. Zion Fellowship for 26 years. Rev. Merrie Turner has hosted recent events in 2013 , 2017, 2019 the Good Friday Prayer Breakfast and the Liberty Prayer Breakfast and virtually in 2021 from National Harbor. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast, Inc. was formed in 2016 to protect the signature glory of God that fills the Capitol City on Inauguration Day during the Presidential inaugurations.Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord.
