Public Universal Television is a new art performance series by Leslie Lawrence & Sophia Simensky, developing their practice of performing the artistic production of popular media in co-operation with their audience. Residing in the former theosophical temple of Amsterdam, they have created an esoteric society of video makers looking at news ways to make co-operative media. For each performance they co-operate with a different artist, making them the guest host of a new tv show, the filming of which is then staged for the live audience as a piece of performance art. Public Universal Television is supported by the AFK (Amsterdam Fund for the Arts).
