The Monroe County Health Council, also referred to as the Monroe County Community Health Access Committee, was established in 1989 in response to the Community Health Act of the same year and chartered in 1993 as a 501c3 Non-Profit Corporation.The Council consists of volunteers representing various organizations throughout the county. The purpose of the Health Council is to promote accessible quality health care for all Monroe County. One aim of the Health Council is to increase awareness of health promotion and disease prevention. The Monroe County Health Council is committed to the health and well-being of the citizens of Monroe County.The Monroe County Health Council has a long, successful record of public service. The council is dedicated to creating and implementing new, innovative programs through collaboration with other agencies that serve our five priorities. Monroe County Health Council has committed to Five Priorities of Nutrition and Fitness, Substance Abuse and Crime Prevention, Domestic Violence Advocacy, Diabetes Awareness and Support, & Access to Healthcare.
