Raw Material is a music and creative arts centre which specialises in delivering programmes for developing creativity and promoting wellbeing in the South London community. They have purpose-built facilities which include recording studios, a digital audio production suite, DJ and video equipment as well as a live room for performances, workshops and ensemble work.Both young people and older adults are able to get involved in the programmes at Raw. Through their Young Creatives programme, Raw works with 16-25 year olds who are looking to develop themselves creatively and access creative opportunities. At Raw, they can receive the essential resources, skills training, professional guidance and industry experience to place them on the path to a creative life and artistic career.Equally, Raw’s Arts and Wellbeing programmes specifically cater for adult members of the community, and focus on improving mental health through social and creative activities. Many individuals who face challenges to their mental health are referred to Raw Material by care organisations in the Lambeth area, but equally anyone who feels they would benefit from a safe, warm and creative environment is welcome to self-refer and join a programme right away.Typically, Raw Material’s programming aligns with school term times, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways of getting involved over the summer as well. Raw will be running summer intensive programmes for young people throughout the months of July and August.So, whether you are a young person who is looking to gain new skills, or a member of the community looking to forge new creative connections, drop by to discover what our charity can do for you, find your creative path, and bless the world with your Raw talent!
