For over eight years, Amber N. Basares has been a noteworthy leader in the public relations space.Amber has been nominated for the 2023 Jefferson Award for her public service contributions to Allen County. She served in the United States Marines on active duty for over four years and currently resides in Lima, OH.Amber Basares has led an impressive career as a Marine and her four-plus years working at both Wounded Warrior Battalion West and as Marine Liaison for History and Museums Camp Pendleton, CA. In 2010, she was awarded the United States Marine Corps Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (w/1star), Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2) Certificates of Appreciation, Letter of Appreciation, Meritorious Mast, Sharpshooter Rifle Qualification Badge. Making rank as high as Sergeant or E-5.As the Executive Director at Pink Diamond Ladies, Amber plays a major role in mentorship, educating, and advocating. Through her commitment to this role, she has helped inner-city urban girls between the ages of 6-27 in Allen County learn their basic human rights, set appropriate obtainable boundaries, and mentor the next generation of leaders.Before her current role at Pink Diamond Ladies, Amber served as a United States Marine, where she deployed with Combat Logistic Battalion 4 (CLB4) to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.A self-described passionate person, Amber is an individual who is committed to public service and education. Influenced by Tamika Mallory an activist and Benjamin Crump a national civil rights attorney, she aspires to continue to shatter glass ceilings in the next stage of her career.Amber is a member of The Allen County Museum and Historical Society, and Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol which collected votes for cannabis to be on the November 2023 ballot. Lima Sister Cities Association member, and NAACP member.Previously, she was a member of the Marine Corps League, Woman Marine Association, LACNIP Board Member, Crisis Crossroads Board Member, and advocate at Crime Victim Services.She has presented at several different industry events organizations, including ICIM (International College of Integrative Medicine), Dr. King Vision in the Present Social Justice Movement at Ohio Northern University, and Introducing Annya Gregory to The Bradfield Center's 80 Years in Lima Community Anniversary Dinner.In her spare time, she volunteers, travels, and expresses her BLACK GIRL MAGIC.Amber has participated in the National Women's March on Washington, Black Lives Matter movements, and Progressive Change Campaign Committee National Candidate Training where Amber is on a mission to hone in on the individuals not mentioned in the BUILD A BRIDGE FOCUS by helping to connect the dots of everyday life to solutions while connecting, educating, and advocating more actionable steps for politicians.Amber helps people and businesses build long-lasting business relationships with aligned partners, evaluate the public's opinions of clients through social media, and understand the importance of KNOWING WHAT YOU KNOW.Her expertise and commitment ALWAY SHOW UP and sprinkle a little BLACK GIRL MAGIC EVERYWHERE she goes, has allowed her to be recognized as a LADI.Combine education, drive, and consistency, and you have Amber Basares.Amber is a master public relations specialist, professional author, autobiographer of Dear Rowland and Gavin-Keith, and skillful speaker. Her impressive diverse background allows her to blend in without sticking out.A passionate, driven, and member of the Pink Diamond Ladies family, Amber is known for wearing a lot of hats. From friend to voice of the community, she can be credited as foster mom, adoptive mom, and bonus mom Pink Diamond Ladies's dedicated Executive Director.She loves to visit her boys Rowland and Gavin-Keith in California and spends a lot of time on the beach, catching up on the news, and grass-rooting young people in her community.
