About This Event

Treat yourself to a day-long retreat, at the Lotus Yoga Centre, to explore and practise a more natural state of being. This retreat is particularly designed to calm the mind, down-regulate the nervous system and reduce stress. We’ll use sitting mindfulness and breath practices, plus qi gong (chi kung). There will be time to sit and walk at breaks, or to rest, and to write.

  • Replenish your energy and reduce stress and anxiety
  • Nourish your well being and mental health
  • Enjoy the benefits of giving your mind a rest from over-thinking.

There is no religion, dogma or belief systems proposed in this retreat. Emphasis is given to your own experience, not theory. The retreat is suitable for beginners, and for those with experience in mindfulness meditation and qi gong.

$105 includes teas, coffee and snacks. Please bring your own lunch. Monring tea, ocffee and snacks provided, pjus teas and ocffee at lunch time.

Rachel Tobin is the director ofthe art of mindfulness.She works with various groups teaching introduction-to-mindfulness courses, offers mindfulness training in organisations, and is a facilitator for a children’s mindfulness programme specially designed for NZ schools called Pause, Breathe, Smile. She also teaches one-day and residential mindfulness and movement retreats for the public at various centres round NZ, and works 1:1 as a coach using a mindfulness-based approach. The movement components of the mindfulness work she offers are qi gong and Feldenkrais, both of which she has trained in.  She lives in Paekakariki, on the Kapiti Coast. She’s also a poet.
