About This Event

Sacred Women’s Drum Circle Facilitator Training (accredited course)

It is with great joy that you are welcomed to this transformative training.

Below you will find information on the course (dates, cost, venue and content) and

information on how to pay your deposit.

This training was born after many years of working with women in women’s circles,

healing spaces and drum circles. Essentially it skilfully merges all of these and enables the

participants to land in a safe space to fully access their authentic expression as well

as bringing about deep healing for those in attendance and in the wider world.

This work is vital for the new world we are beginning to inhabit. It brings people

together, creates community and connects deeply into the earth and the sky. It

enables travel between worlds, raises our vibration, lets us remember who we are and brings us always back to the heart.

It is sacred.

It is ancient.

It is needed.

Details of the training are as follows:

Dates are: Friday 13th September to Monday 16th September 2024.

Content:

Across this training you will be immersed in the Sacred Women’s Drum Circle method, developed over 10 years and 1000’s of drum circles!

You will drum, share, sing and create your own ‘Leader Drum’ to start your circles with.

You will be given all of the theory around opening safe space when drumming, creating the right conditions for participants to feel safe, developing intentions for drumming, encouraging free self-expression, understanding the way drumming changes the brain, what people experience when drumming, when and how to intervene, contraindications for drumming and how to shift the activities in the circle for the optimum benefit of attendees.

You will learn how to gauge the space and provide all that the energy of the time and the people attending require.

Once the in-person training is complete you will be asked to submit 6 case studies on circles that you have held and a reflective essay on the impact of Sacred Women’s Drum Circles on participants using evidence from your own practice.

Dont worry, templates and examples will be provided.

There will be 12 months to complete this.

During this time you can practise as a student.

Once these are complete you will be awarded an Accreditation as Sacred Women’s Drum Circle Facilitator and your certificate will be posted to you.

Closer to the course dates I will send information on what to bring including: things for drum making, food across the course, instruments you may already have etc.

I will also send you a student information form to fill in and return to me.

There is an opportunity to purchase low cost drums for your circles also.

W hat have participants said?:

' I feel honoured to have spent time with such wonderful, honest, authentic, kind, caring, supportive and funny women. so many memories from the 4 day course. @thedrumwoman is an amazing space holder, leader, teacher and so much more. Her ability to allow such freedom and let space develop as it should and her generous sharing of knowledge and time is without rival.'

' I booked onto Melonie's Facilitator training last minute and quite intuitively...and WOW! The way Melonie held the space, the depths we reached together and the power and healing that came through 4 days of our drumming together was beyond what I could have imagined. It was one of the best 4 days of my life and I truly cannot recommend it enough. Melonie creates a truly safe, devotional space for you to fine your inner medicine woman and drum with her and let her rebirth you into a facilitator of this magic! Thank you so much. I will always treasure these days in my heart.'

Melonie runs drum circles, retreats, training and drum birthing (making) workshops for individuals and groups. She is the founder of Sacred Women's Drum Circles and The Association of Women Drummers, Makers and Players.Melonie first met the drums in 2012 and started running drum circles in 2014. She also ran a 'red tent'. The more Melonie drummed with others, the more these circles evolved. She now combines the safe space and authentic sharing of the Red Tent with the healing and transformational power of the drums.Personally, as the drums took her deeper, she found herself drumming in wild lands, ancient barrows, on top of cliffs and even in the sea!Melonie started running drum birthing workshops in 2017 and the more drums that come into the world, the more she learns. The drums 'speak' to her, showing her what they want to look like, how and where they want to be played. Her making has evolved and at times she can not believe what is 'becoming' before her eyes.Melonie's own path continues to deepen as the drums take her to sacred sites and guide her in working with the land.Prior to stepping out full time as thedrumwoman, Melonie was a Primary School Teacher. Her specialism was PSHE and, as such, she was responsible for Sex Education. Melonie's own journey has been one of endometriosis - debilitating menstrual pain - which she believes has ancestral roots and was 'fed' by early age body hatred and a disconnect from her cyclical nature. Finding herself responsible for teaching about menstruation and puberty fuelled her to make a difference and she became nationally known for her work with puberty, menstruation, sex and relationships. In her early 30's Melonie was told that the 'endometriosis could not be cured' and this didn't sit right with her. She embarked on a holistic journey and found herself pain free for the first time since her first bleed. It was during this journey that she found women's circles, womb healing, drumming and herself. In 2017 she stepped out of schools and into self employed life. She has never looked back. She lives in North Essex and runs drum circles across Essex and London. Her workshops take place across the UK and sometimes Online. She published her first book 'How to Support your Daughter through Puberty - A practical guide for mums' in 2020, it is the first in her 'How to' series.
