ICMSV was founded in 2009 by Akhil Jobanputra at the age of 12 to enhance the scene of Indian classical music & dance in Vancouver, and provide a platform where all programming could be showcased in one location. This is still done on our Facebook page, and is an integral part of ICMSV's mandate. On December 6th, 2017, ICMSV was incorporated as a not-for-profit and our purposes of the society are as follows:To promote Indian classical music & dance events in the Lower Mainland,To present a broad spectrum of programming pertaining to Indian classical music & dance and,To foster education and awareness of Indian classical music & dance.
