Ragini Madan has trained in Indian classical storytelling dance form ‘Kathak’ under maestro Shovana Narayan in Delhi since the age of 11. Her style of presentation consists of a harmonious blend of Lucknow and Jaipur gharanas. She participated in her teacher’s dance productions in India and the USA in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In London, she further honed her skills by learning intricate Kathak techniques from Mukti Shri, a disciple of Shrimati Shama Bhate.Since relocating to the UK in September 2007, Ragini has performed in solo, duet and group compositions across various UK cities. She has also choreographed group works with dancers from other Indian classical styles. Her ongoing engagement with dance students from India and beyond, participating in workshops led by various artists, has enhanced her development as a dancer.Kathak has become an essential part of her life, profoundly influencing her. Currently, she teaches Kathak in Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. Ragini Madan founded Antarang - Joyful Living, in Hertfordshire, to empower dance learners and artists through Indian classical arts, focusing on well-being, creativity, and expression. We particularly encourage women to become confident and expressive performers by teaching a storytelling Indian classical dance form (Kathak), which integrates rhythmic movements, footwork, hand gestures and facial expressions.• Developed and implemented engaging teaching methods for Kathak (storytelling) dance programs.• Organized events to encourage performing artists and dance learners to express their creativity on stage.• Created a space for individuals to explore their potential and improve fitness and stress levels.Our mission is to empower learners and artists eager to explore their potential, nurture their talent and enhance their well being.
