Sri Lavanya is an acclaimed artist, educator, and curator known for her innovative approach and dedication to Indian classical arts. Her training began at the Temple of Fine Arts, where she developed a strong foundation in Bharatanatyam and Carnatic vocal music. Over time, her passion led her to explore additional dance forms like Odissi and Kathak, while she continues to hone her skills under renowned mentors.With a commitment to merging traditional techniques with contemporary themes, Lavanya creates compelling works that address relevant social issues, bridging cultural heritage with modern perspectives. As co-curator of Berlin Baithak and Natya Initiative Berlin, she actively champions diversity in the arts, fostering inclusive spaces for creative exploration.In her collaborative projects, Lavanya engages young artists, nurturing their growth and encouraging interdisciplinary connections. Her performances and educational endeavors span local and international stages, where she shares the beauty of Indian classical dance with global audiences. Based in Berlin as a full time professional performing artist and holding a Master’s in English Linguistics, Lavanya’s work continues to resonate deeply, enhancing the cultural landscape through the transformative power of dance.
