Southern University Chapter of the NAACPThe Southern University Chapter of the NAACP is a dynamic student-led organization dedicated to advocacy, leadership development, and community engagement. As an official collegiate branch of the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization, we are committed to upholding the NAACP's mission by fighting for social justice, equity, and the advancement of African Americans and marginalized communities.Our chapter has a rich history of activism and impact. It has been recognized for outstanding voter registration efforts, civic engagement initiatives, and educational programs. In 2022, our chapter won Chapter of the Year after successfully registering over 60% of the student body to vote and was honored by the Mayor of Baton Rouge honored our dedication to civic empowerment.We organize impactful events each year, including our Annual Second Line to the Polls, general body meetings, professional development workshops, and advocacy campaigns that address key social issues affecting students and the wider community.We collaborate with university leadership, local officials, and national partners to create a lasting impact on campus and beyond.
