I love teaching people about the weird and wonderful texture of royal icing and the incredible edible art that can be created with it. My classes are so fun and I promise you will learn enough to impress everyone with your cookie skills.How did I get into this? Every Christmas since 2016, someone told me to enter my elaborate gingerbread houses in competitions. Remember in 2020 when COVID hit and all the bakeries were closed? Food Network still had a Gingerbread Competition show to produce and cast in spite of the closures, so they took to Facebook to find talent. They saw my Gingerbread houses in a Facebook gingerbread group, and urged me to find a partner to enter their TV competition! Unfortunately they weren’t interested in solo competitors so I didn’t get chosen, but this kind of recognition is what finally prompted me to do this professionally and I’ve never looked back!- Gina
