Vancouver born and raised, I embrace everything this beautiful city has to offer. I was first introduced to yoga in my adolescence, through dance, but I viewed it as a means to an end (gaining strength and flexibility). It wasn't until adulthood that I realized yoga wasn't just a "workout". My coping strategy in early adulthood was exercise, but I thought the only way to feel that release was to grind it out at the gym.I was wrong, and that's where yoga taught me movement alone doesn't bring the release, mindful movement is all it takes. At first, I didn't think I was any good at yoga and got bored easily. It wasn't until I stopped trying to master the poses and quiet my thoughts that I started to feel connected, to feel like I was "doing yoga".Too often we are overly fixated on results and attached to outcomes. My practice brings you back in touch with yourself, leaving you feeling more aligned and prepared for what life holds.
