Sela opened in Leeds 2004 with an idea to provide quality imported beers from around the world, fun cocktails to compliment the beer selections and a stage for the region’s finest and most talented musicians to play on.Over 16 years later, we’re still all about the live music, beer, cocktails and pizza!As for the live music, Sela has had the great and the good from the region and beyond. From Local funksters, the New Mastersounds to the New York Brass Band, we've always sought to showcase great Funk, Soul, Jazz and Rock 'n' Roll music. Local favourites from the X-Ray Cat Trio, Mojah Reggae, Wolfcops, Howlin' Ric and the Rocketeers, Mabgate Swingers Trio and Louis Louis Louis all play regularly. The Sela Bar Jazz Jam sees local Jazz musicians take over the stage every week. Close links to Leeds College of Music and the Leeds University Big Band has meant some legendary Big Band nights taking place. We’ve also hosted a range of International Acts such as Dr Lonnie Smith, Georgie Fame, Brian Auger, CAS Trio and more.We carry over a selection of over thirty different beers spanning the globe from Pickering with The Great Yorkshire Brewery’s Yorkshire Blackout, to New York with a selection from Brooklyn Brewery, and Belgium with longtime Sela favourite, Vedett.Our cocktails change regularly too. Our best-sellers are joined by fun, new offerings and our pizza menu is regarded as one of the best the city of Leeds has to offer. Our sister bar Canteen in Chapel Allerton in 2019 bringing a taste of Sela to the LS7.
