The County has emerged as a preeminent cool-climate wine region since achieving official status as a Designated Viticultural Area in 2007. Our terroir, anchored by limestone and heavy with clay, produces elegant reds, crisp white, and fine sparkling wines.The Prince Edward County Winegrowers Association was formed in 2000 as a Not for Profit Organization to support the growth and promotion of The County as a wine region through advocacy, education, and mutual support.
