Founded in 1976 in the legacy of C. S. Lewis, the Institute endeavors to develop disciples who will articulate, defend, live, and share their faith in Christ in personal and public life. The VisionThe Institute's vision complements the work of the Church: equipping thoughtful believers to impact their spheres of influence for Jesus Christ. Our mission is accomplished by(1)sponsoring events to address contemporary issues in the church and culture;(2)creating resources designed to inform, encourage, and strengthen faith;(3)cultivating partnerships with like-minded individuals, churches, and organizations; and(4)offering life-changing programs (e.g., C. S. Lewis Fellows Program). Why the name C. S. Lewis Institute? The name of C. S. Lewis was chosen because of his focus on core essentials of the faith that reach across denominational boundaries. He was also an outstanding example of a lay person who came to Christ and lived out his faith in a secular calling. As a major figure in 20th century Christianity, he has been able to communicate his faith in a profound way.C. S. Lewis Fellows ProgramThe Fellows Program, specifically, is designed to(1)foster significant life transformation;(2)make disciples who make disciples; and(3)prepare Fellows to engage the world for Christ. What Others Say About Us:“The C. S. Lewis Institute is one of the nation’s premier catalysts of the Christian mind, offering the churches a rich diet of spiritual and intellectual nourishment. Foster, founder of RENOVARE“The C. S. Lewis Institute exists to develop wholehearted disciples of Jesus Christ who are able to both articulate and live out their faith… The purpose of the Institute is to further the cause of heart and mind, thereby helping believers to become, in C. S. Lewis’s words, ‘little Christs.’”— Kevin J. Vanhoozer, C. S. Lewis Institute Senior Fellow"The C. S. Lewis Institute has equipped not just people in our church, but our church."⏤ John Hutchinson, Senior Pastor, McLean Presbyterian"The C. S. Lewis Institute combines biblical teaching with grace-filled relationships, wise mentoring, accountability...to maximize the impact of gospel truth in people's lives, helping them both integrate that truth, live it out, make changes that need to be made in their lives in an environment in which they're encouraged, strengthened, and challenged."⏤ Bill Kynes, C. S. Lewis Institute Senior Fellow
