Vancouver based composer Alvand Jalali is a creative musical talent, transforming stories into form of music. Practicing song writing and music theory combined with deep knowledge in music psychology gives him the advantage to influence listeners to a deep extend.Alvand has started his professional career by releasing successful and award winning solo projects for several music competitions. Taking a unique approach to song writing, he creates fusion musical pieces through integrating classical music with traditional ones inspired by different cultures.Successfully writing music for a decade, He has significant experience in working directly with directors and bringing their vision to life. Film score composing is one of his expertise as well as writing music for singers, other musicians and animators as well. Relying on his knowledge in music therapy and music psychology, his musics evokes listener's curiosity to step into the story and guide them to imagine and discover the message.Aiming to convey important messages of the current time, Alvand mainly works on scripts that contain unheard voices and messages. He takes a step further into the story-becomes a part of it and finds a special way to picture and narrate its emotional or the physical world to the audience through the power of music.In his latest music for a short movie "Child bride" nominated for Cannes festival 2019, he musicalized a strong story about one of the most tragic yet ignored issues in the world. His music provokes current human's insensitivity to one another and reveals hidden messages through involving listener's deeper level senses.In 2015, Alvand's piece "The Red Apple of the Sun" won third place at international song composing " Concorso 2 Agosto" and attract lots of attention mainly because of his unique touch of emotion which was felt in the music. His creative skills don't limit to music world and could be seen in some of his award winning and touching animations such as "The Heart Bigger than the World" commissioned by UNESCO which won the best animation of 2015.
