We are ahomelessness charityworking in Elmbridge, Surrey. We offer prevention advice to people who are vulnerably housed, and house and support those who are homeless.Over the last 12 months we have given advice to 384 people and have gone on to house 154 local people.“You have stuck to your word right from the start in everything you advised and said – I trusted in you at a time when trust had been difficult for me.”Our clients face complex issues: 31% have slept rough, 45% have mental health issues, 29% face problems with drugs and or alcohol, 7% have criminal records. Together these issues mean that our clients need support, not only to find a home, but to establish themselves and reengage with society.Our support responds to individual need. We provide one to one sessions, group sessions and link clients to other resources. For example, for those seeking work we set up sessions with local employers who talk to our clients about job opportunities and give advice on CVs, how to interview and how to sustain work.Of the 154 people we housed during 2018, 28% are now in work and 32% are saving every month towards their own deposit for when they are able to move on from our support.If you are able to come along to one of our events, we would be delighted!96p in every £1 we raise is spent on our charitable work so we can assure you that all donations are spent extremely carefully.
