Great Shakespeare for Everyone!Nottingham Shakespeare Company are dedicated to developing quality, inclusive and accessible Shakespeare for all.We work hard to break down barriers to Shakespeare, particularly those socio-economic and cultural walls that make people feel that Shakespeare isn't for them. It is an article of faith for us that Shakespeare is for everyone and everyone can love it!We do this by working as an ensemble and stripping everything back to the text, allowing character and story to grow from Shakespeare's words. Most importantly, we know that our work is only good enough if it reaches every member of our audience.Our aim is to recreate original practice; productions with minimal staging and costume that can be taken out of the traditional theatrical space and that are touring, flexible, interactive and tangible. This means we can bring Shakespeare to audiences, especially those who have not seen it (or not enjoyed it) before.We are actively inclusive of neurodiverse, disabled and LGBTQ+ audiences and actors and strive to bring Shakespeare into diverse communities.
