Thrive Boxing Academy Est. 2023We believe that every child has the potential to thrive and achieve their dreams. At Thrive Boxing Academy in Harleston, Norfolk, our mission is to create a special place where children and young people feel safe, included, and empowered. Under the guidance of our lead coach, Kerry Norfolk, we are committed to teaching the art of amateur boxing in a fun and supportive environment, encouraging everyone to join us on this exciting journey!Just like an African proverb says, “It takes a village to raise a child.” It’s true! This means that it requires many caring individuals—from coaches and teachers to parents, neighbours, and community members—to create a nurturing environment where are young people can flourish. At Thrive, we welcome everyone, no matter their background or ability, because we believe that diversity strengthens our community. In our very first season, we have accomplished amazing things together. We proudly registered 65 boxers, travelled across the country for competitions, and celebrated our Team Captain reach the semi-finals in the Youth Open Category! We participated in national competitions and enjoyed thrilling bouts at many boxing events. Now, we have a dream for the future—to secure a permanent home for our Boxing Academy, where we can train together seven days a week. We are reaching out to local businesses and community members to help us turn this dream into reality. Your support, whether it be financial assistance or helping hands for renovations, would make a huge difference! Here’s what we need:- Renovation Support (toilets, changing rooms, flooring, etc.)- Equipment (boxing ring, hanging bags, etc.)At Thrive, we know that boxing isn’t just about physical fitness; it brings incredible benefits to mental health and social inclusion too. Here are just a few ways that being part of our boxing family can uplift young people:- Boosts Physical Health: Boxing strengthens the heart, increases endurance, and improves overall fitness.- Supports Mental Well-Being: It’s a fantastic way to relieve stress, build focus, and boost self-confidence.- Enhances Social Connections: Best of all, it fosters a sense of community, helping children make new friends and feel like they belong. We’re excited to announce our first ‘Home Show’ at Wortwell Village Hall on April 25th! It will be a brilliant chance to showcase our talented boxers and introduce our community to all the positive things happening at Thrive. If you care about our community’s future and want to support children and young people in reaching their full potential, we’d love for you to get involved.
