Sheringham and the surrounding area in North Norfolk is twinned with Muzillac and its environs on the South East coast of Brittany, Northern France. The Sheringham Muzillac Twinning Association (SMTA) was formed in 2004 and since then there have been regular visits between members of the Sheringham group and members of the Muzillac group. Our aim is to bring the two peoples of Sheringham and Muzillac closer together, to forge friendships and understanding between the two towns and to explore cultural similarities. In Sheringham we have regular meetings for members which include group meals, wine tastings, BBQs and rambles. Once a year we either visit Muzillac or host our Muzillac friends in Sheringham. In 2025 we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the official twinning of the two towns, and will welcome our French friends to Sheringham in September. To raise awareness of SMTA in our local community we are holding the "Bonjour Sheringham" weekend from 8-11 May 2025, including the events found on Eventbrite.
