She has performed in various productions, includingStorm Signalswith the African-American Collective Theater, National Geographic'sThe Real George Washington,ATL HomicideandThe Blacklist.She has also worked as a production assistant, transportation assistant, stand-in, and assistant producer for numerous film and television projects, such asHouse of Cards,Loving, andYin & Yang Mandala of Life.Ami further honed her film production skills at Docs In Progress and American University, where she received her Master of Arts in Communication: Producing Film, Television, and Video in 2018. Tanya's dedication to the craft led her to receive certification for Directing: Core Elements from Sundance Collab earlier this year.Ami's unique perspective and creative approach have earned her recognition and awards. Her short documentary filmBirth! Place?received the 2019 Black Women Cinema Week “Storyteller Award” and was included in The Living Altar exhibition presented by Soil and Shadow, Kalliopeia Foundation, and MoCADA in 2022. Her film,Blue Supper, was shown in LightReel Film Festival 2024. She is currently in production for her short live-action fantasy film,Dogged.
