Introducing Ms. Anjanette White. The Executive Director of Precious Rubies, a non-profit organization for girls aged 11-17, dedicated to beautifying ladies from the inside out since 2007. And "Ladies Demolishing Glass Ceilings, equipping ladies 20-30 years of age to invent their own standards. A little girl from Harvey, IL overcame low self-esteem to receive a degree in Business Management; a degree in Theology; a certificate in Entrepreneurship and is an Ombre Shading Tattoo Artist.Anjanette has had the honor and privilege of working with over 7,000 youth and young adults for the last 20 years. After observing an increase in negative behavior from our youth, especially our girls, that stemmed from low self-esteem, a lack of self-love and a poor self-image. She learned that 70% of our youth avoid daily activities … that we are at our highest suicide rate in 40 years … and 75% have considered or participated in self-harm. 32% of women die from plastic (cosmetic) surgery.Instead of being another critic and just talking about the girls, Precious Rubies chose to be about them. After working in the corporate world for 10 years, one day her supervisor accompanied her to the elevator and inquired: "Angye, do you feel as though you leave yourself at the elevators when you arrive to work?” Anjanette replied “yes” to this question. This random question on the way to the train platform led her to finally register for Cosmetology School. Anjanette traded in her corporate heels for a pair of Artist heels and become a licensed hairstylist in 2001.As a hairstylist aka counselor, she heard story after story about and from domestic violence victims. After getting an opportunity to service domestic violence victims, Anjanette felt propelled to start "FREE" makeovers. The ladies received new hairstyles and new clothes while she listened and poured into them for months.Anjanette's transparency, personal breakthroughs, and triumphs as well as her innate ability to communicate and connect with young ladies has open doors for her, including invitations to become a keynote speaker at Girls of STEM Expo at Eggers Middle School in Hammond, IN; Thornton Fractional Alternative Center in Lansing, IL; St. Mark Missionary Church in Harvey, IL; Christ First Baptist Church in Harvey, IL; New Harvest Church in Chicago Heights, IL, County Club Hills School District for Teachers and Administrators as well as for Salem Baptist Church in Chicago IL to name a few.
