About This Event

Ormiston Families are delighted to bring you the return of our annual Walk With A Fork event around the splendid location of Helmingham Hall on Sunday 1st September.

With the successs of last year we’re excited to be expanding our popular event into a Family Fun Day where you will find live music, craft stalls, games including axe throwing and archery and more Suffolk food suppliers.

There are two options to get in on the fun:

Option One – Walk and Event Village

Welcoming you back for an exclusive, picturesque walk across the beautiful Helmingham estate, taking you through the 400-acre park where herds of red and fallow deer roam. Light refreshments stands will keep you hydrated along your ramble.

Towards the end of the near six-mile walk, you will enter our Event Village were you have access to the barn and can enjoy a complimentary drink from our Fishers Gin bar and James White Juices, with snacks from local suppliers to hand.

In the Event Village you will find a selection of craft stalls and food stands and you can even try your hand at Archery, Geo-tagging and Axe Throwing with East Coast Adventures! Or you can simply sit back and enjoy live music from local musicians.

Ticket holders of this option also have access to the famous Helmingham Hall gardens where you can explore the herbaceous borders, walled kitchen garden, herb, knot, rose and wild gardens.

Option Two – Event Village

We want Walk With a Fork to be more family-friendly than ever this year, so we have included an option to buy tickets for direct entry to the Event Village at the Barn, saving little legs the effort of the six-mile ramble.

Open from 12pm, families will have access to:

• Live music from local bands on the Fishers Stage, sponsored by Fishers Gin

• A chance to explore the range of independent craft stalls

• Food and drink stalls from local producers

• Archery, Axe Throwing and Geo-tagging and other lawn games

We're really excited to be developing an already established and popular event and we look forward to welcoming families to an enjoyable day while raising money for Ormiston Families’ support services across the East of England.

Our historyOrmiston Families exists today because of one family’s tragedy.A young woman, Fiona Ormiston Murray, died whilst on her honeymoon. Fiona loved children and it was no secret that she was excited about starting her own family. Her family, devastated by their loss, wanted to do something to honour her memory. They created a charitable trust, devoted to helping children and families in need. That trust is now known as Ormiston Families. Why Ormiston FamiliesWe support families in the East of England to build resilience and make choices to improve the life chances of their children. Our vision“Safe, healthy, resilient families.”Our missionWe support families in the East of England to build resilience and make choices to improve the life chances of their children. Our valuesEverything we do is guided by our values of collaboration, compassion and effectiveness.
