As the founder of SPOKEN, Tassan provides multiple platforms to amplify the voices of current and future leaders. Tassan’s background as a financial professional, writer and public speaker positions her as a strong facilitator of leadership communication. Through SPOKEN, Tassan features trailblazers and innovators who foster social change and progress.In addition to founding SPOKEN, Tassan co-founded Women’s LEAD through Nicola Wealth, a platform designed to inspire through the stories of pioneering women. Her 20-year career in the financial services industry—most notably over ten years as BC District Vice President at RBC Global Asset Management—reflects her background of strategic expertise and leadership experience.A passionate advocate for education, Tassan holds a psychology degree from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s in Higher Education Leadership from The Harvard Graduate School of Education. In 2024, she was honoured by Vancouver Magazine as one of Vancouver’s “Power 50” for her transformative impact on the city.Tassan’s personal journey, shaped by overcoming early adversity, fuels her passion for supporting marginalized communities. Her focus includes advocacy for mental health, addiction, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, and breaking stigmas surrounding these issues. She chairs the Board of The Dr. Peter Centre and serves as a Director at Rise, an organization empowering entrepreneurs affected by mental health challenges.With nearly three decades of philanthropic service, Tassan’s work spans influential organizations such as the BC Cancer Foundation, Covenant House, Arts Umbrella, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and Union Gospel Mission.Alongside her husband David and their two teenage children, Tassan has made Vancouver their home, building a family rooted in the principles of inclusivity, opportunity, and community transformation.
