Mz Money Works is a nickname for best-selling financial author Teneshia LaFaye, who is an award-winning journalist. She has occupied the financial education space since 2009, when she purchased her first home in her early 30s while raising her two sons. When she was a sports writer in her 20s, she struggled to make ends meet on her $20 an hour job, which is $35 an hour in today's dollars.
