Nu is the founder of HeartStrong Yoga, and is a yoga teacher, holistic therapist, Ayurvedic practitioner and creative. She first tried yoga in her teens, when her mum took her to a class to help her through a difficult time. Something clicked for her in her third session, and it became a practice she turned to time and again for restoring balance.A few years ago, she deepened her practice to support her through a period of chronic stress and burnout. This helped her find grounding, to reconnect to herself and to study yoga in more depth: beyond the poses, into the mental, emotional, energetic spiritual aspects, and the deep roots and rich traditions of the practice of her ancestors. She has since completed over 600 certified hours of training, in addition to many an hour geeking out on yoga philosophy, anatomy, and decolonial practice. She is passionate about honouring the fullness of the yoga tradition: as a means of mind/body integration, as a path of collective and individual liberation, and of personal growth and connection. She aims to teach in a way that shares the magic of practice, and to do so from a place of authenticity and integrity, and to dismantle some of the misconceptions around what yoga is and who it’s for.She is the resident yoga teacher at the Granby Winter Garden and at Blackburne House Wellness, specialising in trauma informed, restorative and chair-based practices, alongside meditation, mindfulness and pranayama, and works with various organisations and collectives who align with her values: to make yoga and wellness practices more equitable, accessible and diverse; and to do so from a grassroots, decolonised perspective.Find her on instagram @heartstrong_yoga
