A high-level chamber choir founded by Bernie Sherlock, whose performances span an eclectic mix of styles while taking special pleasure in new music.International award-winning New Dublin Voices was founded by conductor Bernie Sherlockin 2005. Presenting concert programmes that are fresh, innovative, and exciting, New DublinVoices has given more than 60 world premieres, and takes special pleasure in exploring themusic of living composers. The choir leads the way in performing, premiering andcommissioning and disseminating Irish choral music, both in Ireland and abroad, and inintroducing international choral music to audiences at home in Ireland.New Dublin Voices has won prizes at major competitions in France, Hungary, Germany,Finland, Belgium, Spain, England, Slovenia, Latvia and Italy. Most recently the choir wonFirst Prize in the 2019 City of Derry International Choir Festival, Third Prize at the 2019International Chamber Choir Competition in Marktoberdorf, Germany; First Prize for mixedchoirs at the 2018 Béla Bartók international choral competition in Hungary, and the overallGrand Prix at the 2017 International Baltic Sea Choral Competition in Latvia.  Previousawards include First Prize at the 2015 Cork International Choral Festival, the Grand Prix atthe Concorso Polifonico in Arezzo, Italy in August 2013, all six prizes at the 2011International Choir Contest of Maasmechelen, Belgium, and the Grand Prix at the BudapestInternational Choir Competition in 2009.New Dublin Voices regularly tours to prestigious international festivals at home and abroad.This has seen them travel extensively in Switzerland, Provençe, Normandy, Burgundy, andCatalonia. In July 2017 the choir was one of 24 ensembles from around the globe – and thefirst from Ireland – invited to perform at the triennial World Symposium on Choral Music.Other festival appearances include the 9th European Festival of Youth Choirs in Basel, the2015 Festival des Choeurs Lauréats in France, and the 2nd World Choral Festival in KansasCity, USA. New Dublin Voices was guest choir at the 2018 conference of the Association ofBritish Choral Directors in Leeds.
