Ysgol Y Deri PTA registered charity has been transforming lives since 2008, providing vital support to a wide and diverse range of special needs children that attend Ysgol Y Deri the UK’s largest special needs school. One you may have all had the opportunity to have seen on the BBC One Wales Series ‘A Special School’ . Our biggest aim as a charity is to sit at the heart of our Special School Community whilst raising much needed funds to make a difference to our children’s lives. We take pride in being different then other charity and strive to support the needs of our unique school, breaking down stigmas associated with disability and giving the pupils a voIce. We are devoted to providing a caring and equitable body that delivers meaningful and inclusivity for each and every pupil and the school environment and its needs. Our objective is to raise funds for much needed vital equipment, therapies, activities and help create memories within the school that is not provided by statutory funds. Our PTA activities range from Mothers and Fathers Day Gift Sales, Easter giveaways, Christmas Grotto to a Charity Ball. Thanks to our great community, we are really proud that we have funded Wishlists for each class across the whole school consisting of toys, equipment and experiences. We have also funded specially adapted minibuses to ensure that all of our children can access them. We have funded items such as Playground Equipment, adapted Bikes, Dum kits, I-pads and Caravans. These are to name just a few of the great things we have had the privilege to support and provide the school with over the years.
